Cooper spuds Parsons-3 well, Cooper Energy
Release Date: 2011-02-24
Cooper Energy has spudded its Parsons-3 development well in the PEL92 area of the western flank of Australia's Cooper basin.Targeting the Namur oil reservoir to the north of the Parsons-1 delivery well, Parsons-3 will be drilled to a total depth of 1410 metres and is expected to take nine days to complete.
Parsons-3 is the first well in an eleven well back to back drilling program in the PEL92 area in the western flank of the Cooper Basin, the company announced.
The Parsons oil field is currently producing approximately 1100 barrels of oil per day from two wells in the Namur reservoir, with Cooper Energy expecting additional wells would speed up production and increase reserves in the field.
