Moscow may tax players' profit

Russia's Energy Ministry has proposed taxing oil companies based on their financial results starting from 2012-2013, minister Sergei Shmatko said Thursday"We think that...in 2012-13 we will start the switch...to taxing financial results, a move to taxing profits, which should on the whole lead to a change in the approach to the export tariffs and the mineral extraction tax," Reuters quoted Shmatko telling reporters.
