Rolls-Royce Marine Brazil
Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has roots in Brazil dating back over 50 years. Rolls-Royce Marine division is a global leader in propulsion, engineering and hydrodynamic expertise with a broad product range and full systems integration capability. Rolls-Royce active participation in the Brazilian marine sector has contributed to the rebirth of the Brazilian shipyard industry, particularly in Rio de Janeiro, over the last decade. Today, 65% of the offshore support vessels are built according to Rolls-Royce designs. Of these, 40% have been built by Brazilian shipyards. Recently, Rolls-Royce enhanced its customer support capability in South America with a new Marine Service Centre located in Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro State. It invested $9 million (R$ 15 million) in the new Niteroi facility to serve its rapidly expanding base of installed equipment within the region. The new facility provides strong customer service support to Brazil’s growing fleet of offshore vessels, many of which boast the most efficient and technologically advanced power and propulsion systems designed and supplied by Rolls-Royce.
