Newfield Exploration Company

Newfield Exploration Company is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development and acquisition of natural gas and crude oil properties. The Company’s areas of operation include the Anadarko and Arkoma Basins of the Mid-Continent, the Rocky Mountains, onshore Texas and the Gulf of Mexico. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company had proved reserves of 2.95 trillion cubic feet equivalents (Tcfe). Those reserves were 72% natural gas and 62% proved developed.

Its international activities are focused offshore Malaysia and China. The Company also has interests in deepwater Block 2C offshore Sarawak (1.1 million acres). In Bohai Bay, China, it had production of 1,800 BOPD (net) through its outside operated interests. The Company also has three offshore exploration concessions in the South China Sea that cover approximately 3.5 million gross acres.
