New Delhi, November 3, 2010. GAIL (India) Limited registered a turnover (net of Excise Duty) of Rs. 8,104 crore in the second quarter of FY 2010-11, a 30 percent increase over the turnover in the corresponding period during the last financial year. GAIL’s Net Profit for the second quarter of the FY 2010-11 increased by 30 percent to Rs. 924 crore against Rs. 713 crore in the corresponding period previous year. The Gross Margin increased by 35 percent to Rs. 1,607 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year against Rs. 1,186 crore in the corresponding period last year. The Profit Before Tax increased by 40 percent to Rs. 1,433 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year against Rs. 1027 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Segment-wise Revenue
During the second quarter of the current financial year, revenues from Natural Gas Transmission business have increased by 16 percent to Rs. 979 crore as against Rs. 843 crore in the corresponding period of previous year. The net sales from Petrochemicals business have increased by 13 percent to Rs. 721 crore as against Rs. 636 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The net sales from LPG and Liquid Hydrocarbons business during the second quarter of the current financial year have increased by 43 percent to Rs. 737 crore as against Rs. 516 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The sales from Natural Gas Trading during the second quarter of the current financial year increased by 27 percent to Rs. 6290 crore as against Rs.4969 crore in the corresponding period of the last year. The revenues from LPG transmission during the second quarter of the current financial year have increased by 11 percent to Rs. 114 crore as against Rs. 103 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Physical Performance
During the second quarter of the current financial year, the Natural Gas sales were 79.04 MMSCMD, as against 81.05 MMSCMD during the corresponding period last year. During the second quarter of FY 2010-11, the petrochemical production was 93 TMT, as against 102 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The polymer sales during the second quarter of the current financial year were 107 TMT, as increase of 22 percent from 88 TMT in the corresponding period in the previous year. The LPG transmission during the second quarter of the current financial year was 799 TMT, up by 10 percent from 728 TMT during the corresponding period in the previous financial year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon production during the second quarter of the current financial year was 337 TMT as against 377 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon sales during the second quarter of the current financial year were 347 TMT as against 379 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The Natural Gas transmission during the second quarter of the current financial year was 114.89 MMSCMD, an increase of 8 percent from 106.58 MMSCMD in the corresponding period last year.
Half Yearly Results
GAIL (India) Limited registered a turnover (net of Excise Duty) of Rs. 15,200 crore in the first half of FY 2010-11, a 24 percent increase over the turnover in the corresponding period during the last financial year. GAIL’s Net Profit after tax for the first half of the FY 2010-11 increased by 32 percent to Rs. 1,810 crore against Rs. 1369 crore in the corresponding period previous year. The Gross Margin increased by 33 percent to Rs. 3,110 crore in the first half of the current financial year against Rs. 2,332 crore in the corresponding period last year. The Profit Before Tax increased by 37 percent to Rs. 2,754 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year against Rs. 2,014 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Segment-wise Revenue
During the first half of the current financial year, revenues from Natural Gas Transmission have increased by 19 percent to Rs. 1,876 crore as against Rs. 1,576 crore in the corresponding period the previous year. The net sales from Petrochemicals business have increased by 7 percent to Rs. 1,358 crore as against Rs. 1,275 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The net sales from LPG and Liquid Hydrocarbons business during the first half of the current financial year have increased by 26 percent to Rs. 1,518 crore as against Rs. 1,201 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The revenues from LPG transmission during the first half of the current financial year have increased by 9 percent to Rs. 228 crore as against Rs. 209 crore in the corresponding period last year. The revenues from Natural Gas Trading during the first half of the current financial year increased by 22 percent to Rs. 11,741 crore as against Rs. 9,611 crore in the corresponding period of the last year.
Physical Performance
The Natural Gas transmission during the first half of the current financial year was 115.54 MMSCMD, up 14 percent from 101.66 MMSCMD in the corresponding period last year. The Natural Gas sales during the first half of FY 2010-11 were 81.94 MMSCMD, up 2 percent from 80.50 MMSCMD during the corresponding period last year. During the first half of the current financial year, petrochemical production was 192 TMT, against 196 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The petrochemical sales during the first half of the current financial year were 195 TMT, increased by 8 percent from 180 TMT in the corresponding period in the previous year. The LPG transmission during the first half of the current financial year was 1,587 TMT, up by 8 percent from 1,469 TMT during the corresponding period in the previous financial year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon production during the first half of the current financial year were 698 TMT, as against 711 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon sales during the first half of the current financial year were 703 TMT against 713 TMT in the corresponding period last year.
