Dutch Maritime Awards, IRO

The winners of five major Dutch maritime awards were announced at the 4th Maritime Awards Gala in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The KNVTS Ship-of-the-Year Award was won by Damen Shipyards, Gorinchem, for its Doña Angela Maria T.; a fast supply ship for the offshore industry and the first 50-metre vessel of this type featuring an axe bow. Albert de Krijger won the VNSI Timmers Award with his design-tool for the movement of cutter-suction dredgers in waves. DatemaDelfzijl won the HME Maritime Innovation Award for its ENC-Track ‘pay-as-you-sail’ electronic chart service. Smit International was awarded the KVNR Shipping Award for its environmentally friendly port E3 tug boat and FransHeesen received the HISWA Excellence Award for excellent entrepreneurship.
