Condensate leak at Kollsnes, Gassco

A condensate leak at the Kollsnes process plant in Øygarden, Hordaland has resulted in a emergency shutdown and evacuation of the facilities
The leak happened today at 1.45 p.m. Gassco immediately contacted the proper authorities, and is keeping them continuously updated on the situation. At 14.05 it was confirmed that all personnel were safe.



Emergency personell is present, and working to map and limit any damage that might have occurred. StatoilHydro is cooperating with Police and Fire Departments in managing the situation.



The leakage point has been identified, and preparations for repair work have startet.



The Kollsnes incident will have consequences for the gas supply from Norwegian gas fields the upcoming 24 hours. The scale of the reduction depends on when the Kollsnes situation is normalized. Gas supply from other, unrelated fields will be increased where possible.
