Hunt Oil Company was founded in 1934 and today is one of the leading privately held independent energy companies. Hunt Oil Company, its subsidiaries and affiliated entities, engage in oil and gas exploration and production activities in the United States, Canada, Yemen, Peru and a number of other countries. In addition, Hunt is integrally involved in the start-up of major liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in Yemen and Peru.

Hunt has maintained a presence in South America for many years with previous exploration activities in Argentina, Chile, Guyana and Peru. With its entry into the Camisea project in Peru, Hunt significantly expands its effort in the region with the intention of developing South America as a core producing area for the company.
