Aker Solutions in Asia Pacific is primarily involved in the oil and gas industry. At the centre of the Asia Pacific operation is the high-tech subsea manufacturing centre in the Port Klang Free Zone, Malaysia. Set up with an investment of USD100 million in 2007, this is the first and only manufacturing centre in the world where a complete subsea production system can be manufactured in one location. Malaysia is also the operation headquarters, overseeing subsea, surface and engineering services in this region It has around 800 employees.
