Seadrill

Seadrill is a Bermuda-based international offshore drilling contractor with main offices in Norway, Singapore and the UK. Together with partners, the company has 43 drilling units, out of which 10 are under construction.

At the beginning of the oil and gas era on the Norwegian continental shelf, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Seadrill's predecessor company Smedvig Drilling was established.
In January 2006, Seadrill acquired the Norwegian drilling contractor Smedvig (originating from a long line of shipowning activities dating back to 1915). The combination - under the Seadrill Limited banner - is one of the world's fastest growing drilling contractors.

Seadrill is listed in Norway on the Oslo Stock
Exchange.
