Technip Norway

Technip is a French engineering company, headquartered in La Défense, Paris. It has a workforce of over 23,000 people worldwide, and annual revenues of over 7 billion euros (2007, IFRS).

Technip is the leading subsea engineering contractor on the Norvegian Continental Shelf.

Through its Oslo office and spoolbase in Orkanger, Technip employs about 250 people in Norway with annual revenues of 185 - 265 million €. Focusing on pipeline systems and marine operations, Technip Oslo has become over the last 20 years a leading offshore engineering contractor in the development of subsea fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Technip Oslo is involved as EPCI contractor in several significant field development projects in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

To further strengthen its organization in Norway, especially to service the recently awarded Statoil Frame Agreements for Diving and Pipeline Repair Services, Technip Oslo has established offices in Stavanger and Haugesund, on the Norwegian west coast.

Technip operates a spoolbase ocated in Orkanger, near Trondheim on the west coast of Norway to service the mid-Norwegian Shelf developments planned for the coming years.

About 650 km of pipeline, typically ranging in size from 6 - to 12-inches in diameter, has been produced since operations began in 1995.

When carrying out subsea projects in the region, Technip's reeled pipelay vessel Apache spools pipe at the Orkanger Spoolbase. Typically 10 - 20 km of pipeline can be spooled on each trip.
