Wintershall has been a part of the oil and gas industry for over 75 years. The Group is based in Germany, where it is the country’s largest supplier of crude oil and natural gas.Wintershall began operations in Norway at the end of 2008 when it acquired Revus Energy ASA. By acquiring an innovative and forward-thinking company with excellent knowledge of the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and adding this to the considerable expertise at Wintershall from worldwide operations, they created a subsidiary that was extremely well-placed to succeed.
Wintershall Norge ASA is now one of the largest licence holders on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and due to projects it has in the pipeline, hopes to be producing 50,000 boepd by 2015.
